Horde Leveling Guide by Jame

Hi again! Since I posted a Alliance Guide, I feel I have the need to search for a guide for my Horde players as well =). Horde FTW! (I have an awesome 60 undead priest!) Well easy enough for me I was able to find a guide from the same author of the Alliance guide I had put up earlier. This is almost the identical to the alliance version, but its just the horde counterpart. This also has the same features as the Alliance guide and will accomplish the same things like pics of maps and where to turn in/pick up quests for optimized experience gain. I think personally it looks a little bit nicer also because this was made after the Alliance guide. Just like the Alliance guide this one is also 100 percent free!

Check It Out at...

Alchemy 1-300 Guide

This is a guide I used to level up my alchemy 1-300, I was not able find out the source or author. But Credits to the Author!

This guide will show you how to get your alchemy skill up from 0 to 300. The guide will only use recipe's available at a trainer until 265 and vendor available recipe's from 265 to 300.

This guide only uses recipes that require herbs and vendor bought material (vials).

This guide does not tell you how to get all the different recipe's from quests, vendors or drops. What you do once you hit 300 is entirely up to you. This guide will not tell you what to do with the potions you make either.

This guide is primarily aimed at those who want to switch profession at high level or have high level alts, friends or guildmembers.

Preparation

You are going to need a lot of herbs. Create an alt storage character to store these herbs and then farm (or have an alt farm) for the herbs needed. Use the ingame mail system to send the herbs to the storage character. Don't forget to send some gold to the storage character, so she can send the herbs back.
Once you have all the components collected, everything has to be send back to your main character. The mailbox only shows the first 50 items you have in the mail. It also puts the last item send to you on top. So to avoid complications send the components you need first last: i.e peacebloom and silverleaf are needed first, so these are the last to be send back to your main, after the briarthorn, mageroyal, etc.

The recipe's used require vendor bought components such as vials. These cost gold. To learn recipe's from a trainer also costs gold. The amount of gold needed is aproximately 40 to 50 gold if you farm all of the herbs. If you want to buy everything you need from the auction house expect to spend upwards to 225 gold. This does not include gold for recipe's from vendors or the auction house.
Below is a table that shows the amount of herbs needed. The minimum amount column shows the minimum amount needed if you would get a skill point every time you make something. However at some point a recipe will be yellow or even green when you make something so you won't allways get a skill point. The estimated amount column deals with this, so try to get the estimated amount of herbs on your storage character. If you are buying all the herbs you need from the auction house, I suggest getting the minimum amount and only buy more when needed.

Component Minimum Amount Estimated Amount

Peacebloom 60 (3 stacks) 60 (3 stacks)
Silverleaf 60 (3 stacks) 60 (3 stacks)
Mageroyal 15 (1 stacks) 20 (1 stacks)
Briarthorn 80 (4 stacks) 90 (5 stacks)
Stranglekelp 40 (2 stacks) 50 (3 stacks)
Bruiseweed 30 (2 stacks) 35 (2 stacks)
Wild Steelbloom 5 (1 stacks) 10 (1 stacks)
Kingsblood 30 (2 stacks) 40 (2 stacks)
Liferoot 30 (2 stacks) 40 (2 stacks)
Goldthorn 45 (3 stacks) 50 (2 stacks)
Khadgar's Whisker 15 (1 stacks) 20 (1 stacks)
Sungrass 60 (3 stacks) 70 (4 stacks)
Blindweed 30 (2 stacks) 35 (2 stacks)
Arthas' Tears 20 (1 stacks) 25 (2 stacks)
Golden Sansam 40 (2 stacks) 60 (3 stacks)
Mountain Silversage 20 (1 stacks) 30 (2 stacks)

Getting from 1 to 50

Getting from 1 to 50 is easy enough. Make 60 minor healing potions. This should get you to skill 60. You need at least skill 55 for the next step, so don't worry if you didn't get to 60. Keep the minor healing potions, you will need them later.
Once you hit 50 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Journeyman Alchemist. You have to be level 10 to become Journeyman Alchemist.
This table shows the different recipes used to get from 0 to 50.

Skill Item From - To

1 Minor Healing Potion 0 - 60 (60)

Getting from 50 to 125

Use the minor healing potions made earlier to make lesser healing potions to get to 110. If you didn't reach 110, make elixirs of wisdom until you do.
At 110 you can train the healing potion recipe. Make those until skill 125
Once you hit 125 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Expert Alchemist. You have to be level 20 to become Expert Alchemist.
This table shows the different recipes used to get from 50 to 125.

Skill Item From - To

55 Lesser Healing Potion 60 - 110 (50)
90 Elixir of Wisdom 105 - 110 (5)
110 Healing Potion 110 - 125 (15)

Getting from 125 to 200

Make some more healing potions to get to skill 140. Make lesser mana potions to get to 155, greater healing potions to get to 185 and elixirs of agility to get to 200.
Once you hit 200 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Artisan Alchemist. You have to be level 35 to become Artisan Alchemist.
This table shows the different recipes used to get from 125 to 200.

Skill Item From - To

110 Healing Potion 125 - 140 (15)
120 Lesser Mana Potion 140 - 155 (15)
155 Greater Healing Potion 155 - 185 (30)
185 Elixir of Agility 185 - 200 (15)

Getting from 200 to 265

Make some more elixirs of agility to get to 210. Make elixirs of greater defense until 215 and then make superior healing potions until 230. Make elixirs of detect undead to get to 250 and elixir of greater agility to get to 265.
This table shows the different recipes used to get from 200 to 265.

Skill Item From - To

185 Elixir of Agility 200 - 210 (10)
195 Elixir of Greater Defense 210 - 215 (5)
215 Superior Healing Potion 215 - 230 (15)
230 Elixir of Detect Undead 230 - 250 (20)
240 Elixir of Greater Agility 250 - 265 (15)

Getting from 265 to 300

Although you can get to 300 using the elixir of detect demon recipe, the gromsblood needed is expensive when bought from the auction house so i decided to use vendor available recipe's to get from 265 to 300.
Get the superior mana potion recipe from Ulthir in Darnassus or Algernon in Undercity and the major healing potion recipe from Evie Whirlbrew in Everlook.
Make superior mana potion to get to skill 285 and major healing potions to get to 300.

Congratulations, you now have 300 skill in alchemy.

This table shows the different recipes that are avaible through vendors to get from 265 to 300.

Skill Item From - To
260 Superior Mana Potion 265 - 285 (20)
275 Major Healing Potion 280 - 300 (20)

This table shows who and where the different vendors are for the previously mentioned recipe's.

What Who Where
Superior Mana Potion Ulthir (Alliance Faction)
Algernon (Horde Faction) Darnassus
Undercity
Major Healing Potion Evie Whirlbrew (Neutral) Everlook in Winterspring

Jewelcrafting 1-300 Guide

Jewelcrafting 1-375

The EASIEST and FASTEST way to level Jewelcrafting is to have LOADS of GOLD. It's impossible to powerlevel Jewelcrafting without it. So unless you are already loaded you NEED to check out this site first.

This power leveling guide is focused on leveling jewelcrafting from 1-300 as quickly and easily as possible when the Burning Crusade is released. This should give you edge over players who are unprepared for Jewelcrafting when the expansion is out. I have chosen designs with easily obtainable materials opposed to cheap materials, and I have not considered resale value of items. If you have any suggestions, please share them with me at suggestions@almostgaming.com. Additionally, this guide was written during the beta so design specifications and material are likely to change. Please keep me posted with what you discover so I can keep this guide updated.

Once the Burning Crusade is released, the below materials will likely increase in value as Horde and Alliance shuffle to their respected cities and try to power level Jewelcrafting. I strongly recommend not only buying what you'll need to level to 300, but also extras in case something goes wrong after the Burning Crusade is released.

Here is the list of best case scenario and recommended amounts of materials for 1-300 Jewelcrafting:

  • 7g 12s 80c for training

  • 180-240 Copper Bars

  • 50-75 Malachite

  • 100-140 Silver Bars

  • 40-60 Shadowgems

  • 40-60 Bronze Bars

  • 60-85 Gold Bars

  • 75-90 Jade

  • 90-120 Elemental Earth

  • 120-180 Thorium Bars

  • 30-45 Star Rubys

  • 30-40 Large Opal

Acquire the above materials and then go to the Jewelcrafting trainer in Silvermoon / Exodar. You shouldn't have to leave once you start.

Apprentice:

Learn Apprentice Jewelcrafting for 90c
Buy a jeweler's kit for 7s 20c
Craft 70 Delicate Copper Wire from 140 Copper bars (you will need at least 70 Delicate Copper Wire)
You should now be level 50 Jewelcrafting
Learn Malachite Pendant for 90c
Craft 10 Malachite Pendants from 10 Delicate Copper Wire and 10 Malachite
You should now be level 60 Jewelcrafting

Journeyman:

Learn Journeyman Jewelcrafting for 4s 50c
Learn Inlaid Malachite Ring for 90c
Craft 20 Inlaid Malachite Ring from 40 Malachite and 40 Copper Bars
You should now be level 80 Jewelcrafting
Learn ring of Silver Might for 5s 40c
Craft 50 ring of Silver Might from 100 Silver Bars
You should now be level 130 Jewelcrafting

Expert:

Learn Expert Jewelcrafting for 45s
Learn Ring of Twilight Shadows for 7s 20c
Craft 20 ring of Twilight Shadows from 40 Shadowgems and 40 Bronze Bars
You should now be level 150 Jewelcrafting
Learn golden dragon ring for 10s 80c
Craft 30 Golden Dragon Ring from 30 Jade 60 Gold Bars and 60 Delicate Copper Wire
You should now be level 180 Jewelcrafting
Purchase Design: The Jade Eye from Gelanthis (the supplier with the 3 trainers, if you're Alliance you lose) for 22s 50c
Craft 45 The Jade Eye from 45 Jade and 90 Elemental Earth
You should now be level 225 Jewelcrafting

Artisan:

Learn Artisan Jewelcrafting for 4g 50s
Learn Thorium Setting for 31s 50c
Craft 45 Thorium Setting from 90 Thorium Bars (you will need at least 45 Thorium Settings)
You should now be level 255 Jewelcrafting
Undress the Kalinda in your mind while congratulating yourself for achieving 255 Jewelcrafting (if you're Alliance you won't know what I'm talking about, just /exit); if you're a chick.. undress her anyways (don't worry I won't tell)
Learn Ruby Pendant of Fire for 36s
Craft 30 Ruby Pendant of Fire from 30 Star Ruby and 30 Thorium Setting
You should now be level 285 Jewelcrafting
Learn simple Opal Ring for 90s
Craft 15 Simple Opal Rings from 30 Large Opals, 15 Thorium Setting and 30 Thorium Bars
You should now be level 300 Jewelcrafting
Now, undress both Kalinda and Telia in your mind (again, if you're alliance you lose)

Congrats you're level 300 Jewelcrafting! Please, if for some reason you copy this guide to your own page provide http://www.almostgaming.com/wow with a backlink. Good luck in the Outlands!

Master:

For Master Jewelcrafting, it is always least expensive to craft the Uncommon rarity (green) gems, even if they're green patterns with a low chance to skill up. Other patterns always use far more expensive materials compared to 1g or less per green gem. After 360 skill, there are no inexpensive trainer-taught patterns to easily level on. Your best bet is to find or purchase Rare-quality (blue) gem Designs to cut for others or yourself. The Delicate Eternium Ring, if you can find it, is the cheapest way to level.

Learn Master Jewelcrafting from Kalaen in Thrallmar or Tatiana in Honor Hold
Use 24g to purchase the six gem Designs sold by the trainer for 300 skill
Cut 5 of any of the the gem designs you just purchased (which color gem you cut does not matter)
You should now be at 305 skill
Use 20g to purchase the four gem Designs sold by the trainer for 305 skill
Cut 10 of any of the gem designs you just purchased
You should now be at 315 skill
Use 6g to purchase Design: Glinting Flame Spessarite from the trainer
Cut 10 Glinting Flame Spessarite
You should now be at 325 skill
Use 18g to purchase the three Designs sold by the trainer for 325 skill
Cut any of the gem designs you just purchased until 355 skill (this will take a lot of gems, but trust me, it's still the cheapest way)
Train the Purified Shadow Pearl from any Grand Master Jewelcrafter
Cut Purified Shadow Pearls until 360 skill
Obtain the design for the Delicate Eternium Ring
Cut 15 Delicate Eternium Ring
You should now be at 375 skill. Congratulations!

Alliance Leveling Guide by Jame

Hi guys! Id like to share one of the free wow leveling guides I used when I was leveling up my first Alliance Human Warlock. This is awesome guide that tells you what quests to pick up/turn in, where to set your hearth, what to buy from AH before doing the quests, ultimately to optimize your exp per hour. While using this guide I have always been able to keep up from a not to shabby 30,000 xp/hr to 60,000 xp/hr consistanly throughout my leveling w/o reseted experience. This fast leveling guide has pictures of the maps to show you exactly where to go and the order, to make sure you are headed to whereever you go. Only drawback is that the guide starts off at level 30 and up, but the good news is it is FREE!!

Check it out at

Jame's Alliance Guide Chapter I - Lvls 30-41!

Jame's Alliance Guide Chapter II- Lvls 41-50!

Jame's Alliance Guide Chapter III

LockPicking 1-300 Guide

Lockpicking 1-375

Lockpicking is an exclusive skill of Rogues. Unfortunately many Rogues underutilize this skill and even more unfortunately many Rogues underutilize all of their skills and are simply button mashers giving Rogues a NOOB reputation. If this sounds like you or if you want to be the BEST Rogue possible check this site out for way better information than you'll find here.

Lockpicking is a very beneficial ability to have. During your time in the game there are going to be locked chests in instances, locked boxes dropping off mobs, or locked doors that could provide you with access to uber loot to sell on the auction house.

Read the lockpicking guide below and get yourself well on the way to lockpicking of 300, but first check out our table of items that can help you increase your skill along the way.

Stuff from Pick Pocketing

All lockpicking levels listed below are when the item first becomes "orange", you may pick the locks on them until it is no longer beneficial to do so (turns grey, better options, etc)

Battered Junkbox - 25
Worn Junkbox - 100
Sturdy Junkbox -175
Heavy Junkbox - 250
Strong Junkbox - 300

Stuff from random drops
Ornate Bronze Lockbox - 60
Heavy Bronze Lockbox - 75
Iron Lockbox - 85
Heavy Iron Lockbox - 125
Steel Lockbox - 180
Reinforced Steel Lockbox - 225
Mithril Lockbox - 225
Thorium Lockbox - 225
Eternium Lockbox - 225
Khorium Lockbox - 325

Doors
Gnomeregan - 150
Scarlet Monastery - 175
Searing Gorge Gate - 225
Blackrock Depths - 280
Scholomance - 280
Dire Maul - 300

Footlockers

The lockpicking skill levels for these start pretty close to the lowest typical mob found in the zone x5. For instance a level 20 zone would have footlockers that you could pick at 5x20=100 lockpicking skill. I don't have accurate listings of when these become orange so if you have additional information please feel free to submit!

Hillsbrad Foothills - Durnholde Keep - 75?
Redridge Mountains - Lake Everstill - 75?
Ashenvale Forest - Zoram Strand - 75?
Stonetalon Mountains - Windshear Crag and Associated Mines - 75?
Wetlands - Murloc Camps - 100?
Desolace - Sar'theris Strand - 175?
Badlands - Angor Fortress 175?
Swamp of Sorrows - Pool of Tears - 200?
Searing Gorge - 200?
Tanaris Desert - Lost Rigger Cove - 225?
Azshara - Bay of Storms - 275?
Eastern Plaguelands - Tyr's Hand - 275?

The Guide - Horde and Alliance
To start out with there is a slight difference in the beginning of lockpicking for Horde and Alliance but eventually it will come on the same path so I will start them out separately.

Horde Lockpicking 1-85
Once you get the quest for lockpicking there are chests inside of a ship near Ratchet. It's the only ship in the water that's not sunken so you can't miss it. Inside the ship is what the quest refers to as a "place where they train their thieves" and that's exactly where you want to head. You can pick the locks on those chests until about 85 skill. There is also a chest in there for the Polly quest that has a pretty decent respawn timer that you could pick to increase your skill as well although I've never stayed at it passed 100 you may want to use that as an alternative instead of the next part.

Horde Lockpicking 85-175
You will get a quest for your poisons, you may not know it as your poisons quest but the objective is to pick pocket a key, kill some things , kill a boss(elite), and open his chest. You will do this northwest of Sludge Fen. You get the quest at 20 but it is highly unlikely you will be able to complete it till 24+, I'd wait until you were 26ish. The end guy is an elite who will beat you down every single time you try this quest, in order to keep picking the lock on his chest to skill up you will have to kill him every spawn. I've never been able to do this quest below level 24 with any of my rogues, so good luck to you! This chest can bring you up to 175 if your patient, I usually leave in the 150's though.

Alliance Lockpicking 1-85
Alliance also get similiar quests as compared to the Horde. The thieves training area this time is by Atler Mill northeast of Lakeshire. You can stay at these chests until about skill 85, but keep a watch out for horde while you're in Redridge, they seem to camp the area.

Alliance Lockpicking 85-175
The Alliance poison quest happens in a tower that is northeaster part of Westfall. The actual tower is located to the east of bridge that heads to darkshire. The quest is very similiar to the Horde, there is a chest in the top that you can pick to about 175, but you first have to find a way to incapacitate or kill the elite boss to make it worth while. I wouldn't try it unless you're 24 plus and that may be hard for anyone who isn't geared up or twinked well.

Both Lockpicking 175-225
This part can be tricky. The way I would do it though is to go pickpocket sturdy junkboxes (use allakhzam to lookup where they come from, I think the Ogres in Tanaris have them) and get your lockpicking skill to 180. Once you hit a lockpicking skill of 180 then I suggest going to Scarlet Monastery and picking all of the doors. The ones outside the instance are on a timer so you can only do those a few times every so often, but hit up all the doors on the way in, go into an instance, unlock more doors, open chests, and pickpocket junkboxes all the way to 225.

Both Lockpicking 225-280
You could do the Searing Gorge door but it's not a reliable way to skill up, so you're pretty much stuck with doing junk boxes. At this point what you could also do is open lockboxes for free in a big city and get your skill up that way. You'll probably be getting more instance groups too and those tend to have at least one locked chest per instance. See the above list for doors and items in this skill range.

Both Lockpicking 280-300
There are doors in Blackrock Depths that you can pick, otherwise continue istance runs, pick pocketing, and advertising opening lockboxes for free. Make sure you use the above chart for guidance it what items you should be looking to picklock so you don't waste time.

Both Lockpicking 300-375
There are several ways to go from 300-375. The Boulderfists can be pickpocketed in Nagrand for Strong Junkboxes. Khorium Lockboxes are random dropped in the Burning Crusade zones but mostly found in the new Burning Crusades instances. The Dire Maul doors are also an option to get a few skillups. Going from 1-375 is no easy task and will take a lot of time, but it will definately payout in the end.
